MTR to raise fare by 3.6pc

MTR Corporation is increasing fares by 3.6 percent, effective from June 29.
Meanwhile, the mass transit operator will extend the offer of 10-percent discount for the second trips of the day to April 30, 2015.
MTR will start selling the monthly tickets on June 8. Passengers can pay HK$400 for a pass to travel in urban areas, up to 40 trips a month.
An early bird discount will be launched in September. In 29 destinated stations, passengers can have 25 percent off their fares when they exit between 7:15am and 8:15am on weekdays.
