(Rugby) Sam Tomkins fined for wee indiscretion
(05-27 11:25)

The New Zealand Warriors fined star recruit Sam Tomkins NZ$2,000 Tuesday for urinating in public while out celebrating his team's National Rugby League (NRL) win over the Gold Coast Titans.
Australian police apprehended Tomkins, the incumbent England fullback, on Sunday morning at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast after the Warriors 24-16 victory and issued an on-the-spot fine for public urination, the club said.
The Warriors said they imposed their own fine after conducting an investigation into the incident.
Tomkins, who signed for the Warriors from Wigan during the off-season for a reported world record transfer fee of US$1.12 million, said he was embarrassed by his actions.
"I'm disappointed in myself. I thought I was in a secluded spot but realize I still made a poor decision,'' he said. -- AFP
