Nikkei jumps on weaker yen

Tokyo stocks rose 1.60 percent Thursday morning following sharp gains on Wall Street, while a weaker yen lifted exporters.
The benchmark Nikkei index added 225.01 points to 14,267.18 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares climbed 1.19 percent, or 13.72 points, to 1,163.77. --AFP
