UK official retail sales rally in April
(05-21 17:13)

Retail sales in Britain, a key indicator of household spending confidence, jumped by a robust 1.3 percent in April compared with the level in March, official data showed on Wednesday.
They surged by 6.9 percent compared with April 2013, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement. That was the fastest retail sales growth for a decade.
Sales growth in April was boosted by Easter falling later than in 2013 but the strong data comes also as Britain's economy has showed signs of solid recovery this year. --AFP
