Hang Seng finishes flat, Shanghai rises

Hong Kong shares ended flat on Wednesday as early losses fueled by a sell-off in New York were pared by bargain-buying, while investors also tracked gains in Chinese markets.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index edged up 1.84 points to 22,836.52 on turnover of HK$51.21 billion.
In China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.84 percent, or 16.83 points, to 2,024.95 on turnover of 48.4 billion yuan.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which follows stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.93 percent, or 9.50 points, to 1,028.00 on turnover of 63.1 billion yuan. --AFP
