Amber rainstorm warning signal effective

The amber rainstorm warning signal is effective starting at 3.30pm, meaning heavy rain has fallen or is expected to fall across the city, exceeding 30 millimeters in an hour and is likely to continue.
Flooding is expected in some low-lying and poorly drained area, the Observatory warns.
