HK tour groups safe in Thailand

The Travel Industry Council says all Hong Kong tour groups in Bangkok are safe.
Its executive director, Joseph Tung Yiu-chung, gave the assurance after the Thai army declared martial law amid continuing political turmoil. Tung said there were no plans at present to cancel tours from Hong Kong.
The Secretary for Security, Lai Tung-kwok, said the government was closely monitoring events in Thailand and could not rule out the possibility of issuing a travel alert. Mr Lai said the current situation remained fairly normal, but he advised Hong Kong people visiting the country to avoid protest sites and crowded areas. --RTHK
