Vodafone profit surges on Verizon Wireless sale
(05-20 14:38)

Vodafone's annual net profit rocketed to 59.25 billion pounds, boosted by the enormous sale of its stake in US joint-venture Verizon Wireless, the British mobile phone giant said Tuesday.
The company's 2013/2014 profit after taxation, equivalent to US$100 billion or 73 billion euros, compared with slender net profit of just 413 million pounds in the previous 2012/2013 financial year, Vodafone said in a results statement. --AFP
