European stocks open flat

Europe's main stock markets steadied at the start of trading on Friday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index adding 0.09 percent to 6,846.75 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 fell 0.10 percent to 9,646.56 and the Paris CAC 40 gained just 0.03 percent to 4,446.20 points, compared with the previous day's closing levels.
All three main markets had fallen on Thursday as investors digested gloomy eurozone data showing anaemic economic growth for the first quarter of the year. --AFP
