European equities open flat

Europe's main stock markets steadied at the start of trading on Wednesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dropping just 0.02 percent to stand at 6,871.42 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 edged up 0.11 percent to 9,765.62 and the Paris CAC 40 firmed 0.03 percent to 4,506.56 points, compared with Tuesday's closing levels. --AFP
