Nikkei down at mid-day

Tokyo stocks dipped 0.34 percent Wednesday morning on profit-taking after surging the previous day.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index, which climbed 1.95 percent Tuesday, fell 49.72 points to 14,375.72 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares was flat, inching up 0.24 points to 1,178.59. --AFP
