Nikkei jumps at mid-day

Tokyo stocks climbed 1.66 percent Tuesday morning boosted by the record-setting advances on Wall Street.
The Nikkei 225 index soared 235.09 points to 14,384.61 by the break while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 1.46 percent, or 16.86 points, at 1,174.77. --AFP
