Dongguan vice mayor under probe

The executive vice mayor of Dongguan City in south China's Guangdong Province is being investigated for "serious discipline violations," the provincial disciplinary watchdog said Thursday.
The Guangdong Provincial Commission for Disciplinary Inspection issued a statement saying Liang Guoying is under investigation.
Liang assumed his post as executive vice mayor of Dongguan in 2011 and he is a member of the standing committee of the city's party committee. --Xinhua
