Bar's proposal in line with Govt's: Lam
(04-29 12:32)

The Acting Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said the Bar Association's proposal on political reform is in line with the position of the government.
Speaking ahead of the weekly Executive Council meeting, Lam said that like the administration, the Bar Association believes only members of the Nominating Committee can nominate candidates for the Chief Executive election.
The association also said that any proposal to add the entire electorate to the Nominating Committee would violate the Basic Law -- a view supported by the government. --RTHK
