Draghi flags low rates for ‘extended period’

ECB President Mario Draghi said today in Frankfurt, Germany, that monetary policymakers “firmly reiterate that we continue to expect key ECB rates to remain at present or lower levels for an extended period of time.’’
Earlier, the central bank held its key interest rate unchanged at 0.25 percent, following its monthly policy meeting today.
The other two key rates, the marginal lending rate and the deposit rate, also are unchanged at 0.75 percent and 0 percent respectively.
