Nikkei higher

Stocks in Tokyo opened 0.42 percent higher after another strong performance for stocks on Wall Street, where the S&P 500 hit a fresh high.
The headline Nikkei index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 62.86 points to 15,009.18 in the first minutes of trading.—AFP
