Chile tsunami fear subsides

Chile called off a tsunami alert declared after an 8.2-magnitude earthquake struck the northern region.
Interior Minister Rodrigo Penailillo announced the decision by the national disaster agency ONEMI, and raised the death toll from the quake from 5 to 6.
The quake struck at 8:46 pm local time at a depth of 10 kilometers from Iquique on Chile's northern coast, the United States Geological Survey said.—AFP
