(HK Sevens) Samoa hold off spirited Sri Lanka

Samoa turned on the gas after the break to defeat a much-improved Sri Lanka 33-14 in their bowl quarterfinal today at Hong Kong Stadium. Samoa’s Kelly Meafua scored his third try in the game after the break. Etiuefa Fiavaai and Viiga Reupena also touched down for the Samoans.
The Sri Lankans scored two converted tries, through Danushka Ranjan who sprinted and jived his way to the touchline and Srinath Sooriyabandara who also turned on the pace to score before the break to lead Samoa.
