(HK Sevens) Wales hold off spirited Sri Lanka

Wales defeated a spirited Sri Lankan outfit 47-12 in a pool A game at the Hong Kong Stadium. Amid huge cheers in the second half the Sri Lanka’s skipper Fazil Marija broke through and unloaded to Mithun Hapugoda, who scored their first try. Later Sri Lanka scored again. Srinath Sooriyabandara broke the line and sent Mithun Hapugoda again for a second try amid roars from the supportive crowd.
Wales led 26-0 at half time, having dominated play from the first whistle. Jason Harries went over for two tries in the first half. Will Thomas and Lee Williams piled on more points for Wales. Luke Morgan scored in the second half and Jason Harries, ran in yet another along with Ross Jones adding more points for Wales.
