Hang Seng, Shanghai edge up

Stocks in Hong Kong stocks were 0.44 percent higher in early trade following losses in the previous session. The benchmark Hang Seng Index edged up 99.47 points to 22,679.25.
In Shanghai, shares were mixed, as investors awaited more details of economic policies from an annual meeting of lawmakers in Beijing.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.05 percent, or 0.99 points, to 2,054.07. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, slipped 0.27 percent, or 3.00 points, to 1,100.67.—AFP
