Factory oil spill pollutes Guangxi river
(02-26 08:36)

Machine oil from a hydropower station leaked into a local river in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Machinery at the Hemianshi Hydropower Station spilled engine oil into the Hejiang River in Hezhou City during mid-day yesterday.
Local authorities are taking urgent measures to curb pollution, and the impact of the contamination is being evaluated.
The Hejiang River winds across Guangxi before emptying into the Xijiang River in Guangdong. Xijiang is a major waterway in Guangdong.--AFP
