Education official sentenced for misconduct

A senior school development officer at the Education Bureau was sentenced to 140 community service, after she was guilty of misconduct in public office.
The court heard that the officer helped a girl -- a niece of her friend -- to be admitted in an English secondary school.
The bureau declined to comment on individual cases, except it added that it will follow the guideline to determine any disciplinary action against the convicted.
