Italy's Renzi asked to form government

Italy's president has asked the mayor of Florence, Matteo Renzi, to try to form a government after Renzi sacked the premier in a power play in his own party.
Renzi met for more than an hour with President Giorgio Napolitano today. Napolitano's office said in a statement that he had asked Renzi to try to form a government.—AP
