Driver gets 2.5 years for girl's death

A truck driver has been jailed for two-and-a-half years, after he admitted knocking down and killing a nine-year-old girl after jumping a red light.
The District Court was told that the driver, So Chun-fai, hit the victim on a pedestrian crossing. She was dragged along under the vehicle for 16 meters before it finally stopped. So had a history of driving offenses, including 11 convictions for speeding.
He was disqualified from driving for five years. --RTHK
