Two men die after taking new drug
(02-04 16:46)

Two men have died after taking a new type of drug known as PMMA -- the first such cases reported in Hong Kong.
The Poison Information Center says the drug -- which stimulates the brain and heart -- can quickly prove fatal.
The men both died a day or two after being admitted to hospital. Other drugs were also found in their bodies.
The centre says PMMA can cause high blood pressure, rapid heart beat, fever, dilated pupils and seizures.
It says PMMA is dangerous because it's often mixed with other drugs before being repackaged like sweets in bright colors that are attractive to young people. --RTHK
