Building of new RTHK HQ delayed
(01-29 18:32)

The government has withdrawn a funding request for RTHK's new headquarters in Tseung Kwan O, following failure to obtain enough support from lawmakers.
The broadcaster had reduced the cost of the project to HK$5.3 billion, after councilors rejected the original request for HK$6 billion.
The government said the project would now have to be re-tendered. It said this would cause of a delay of at least two years in building the new station, and further increase construction costs. --RTHK
