Leung dismisses marathon speculation

Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying has dismissed speculation that he's decided not to attend the opening ceremony of next month's Hong Kong Marathon because the organizer, Standard Chartered Bank, advertises in the largely anti-government Apple Daily.
Leung said he's not available because he will have a tight schedule following a ten-day holiday. He added that he had been to the opening ceremony before and it was now time to go to other events.
However, Labor Party Lee Cheuk-yan said he didn't find Leung's explanation convincing. --RTHK
