Hang Seng lower, Shanghai flat

Stocks in Hong Kong fell 0.86 percent at the start of trade following heavy losses on Wall Street. The benchmark Hang Seng Index eased 197.02 points to 22,691.74 in early exchanges.
In Shanghai, shares were flat in morning trading amid a lack of incentives for investors to enter the market, dealers said. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.08 percent, or 1.58 points, to 2,007.98.—AFP
