Schumacher skiing outside trail, inquiry shows
(01-08 18:48)

Investigators say two minutes of footage from a camera on ex-Formula One driver Michael Schumacher's ski helmet showed he was skiing well off a groomed trail when he lost his balance and crashed.
Patrick Quincy, the Albertville prosecutor, offered new details today from the investigation into Schumacher's December 29 accident at the Meribel resort in the French Alps. Schumacher is in a medically induced coma.
Quincy would not estimate how fast Schumacher was skiing, though he said it “is not an important element of the investigation.''
He said Schumacher crashed nine meters outside the marked trail.
Investigators ruled out any problems with Schumacher's skis.--AP
