K-pop boy band singer performs last rites for dead father
(01-08 14:50)

The leader of popular South Korean boy band Super Junior has bid farewell to his father and grandparents who died in a suspected murder-suicide this week.
Local TV footage shows Leeteuk, (real name Park Jeong Su), dressed in a black suit and tie, crying when other Super Junior members moved one coffin to a black limousine at a Seoul hospital Wednesday before leaving for a crematorium.
Media reports say Lee's grandparents were found dead in bed while his father was hanging by a robe around his neck at their home Monday. The reports cited police officers as saying Lee's father left a suicide note suggesting he committed suicide after strangling his parents.
Media reports also said that on Monday night the star’s agency SM Entertainment had claimed the deaths had been the result of a car accident.
The Korea Herald reported that family members of the deceased said the singer’s father had been depressed for a long time, after a divorce. His aging parents had been battling Alzheimer’s disease for years.
