Tokyo rallies at the break

Stocks in Tokyo rallied 1.04 percent, tracking gains on Wall Street as the dollar firmed against the yen. The benchmark Nikkei-225 index added 163.97 points to 15,978.34 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares was up 0.83 percent, or 10.68 points, at 1,293.93.—AFP
