Yik Siu-ling checks out of Taipei hospital
(01-02 11:38)

Yik Siu-ling, a survivor of the tourist bus massacre of Hong Kong tourists in Manila four years ago, has been discharged from hospital in Taiwan after complex surgery to reconstruct her lower jaw last month.
She said the success of the operation was "the best Christmas and New Year's gift.’’
Yik's jaw was shattered by a bullet when a Filipino gunman took the bus passengers hostage in August 2010, and gunned down eight Hong Kong people in cold blood, when inept Filipino police bungled the rescue operation.
Since then she has had more than 30 operations.
Yik is expected to return Hong Kong before the end of the month.--RTHK
