Sri Lankan fire dancers ignite HK countdown

Fire-breathing traditional folk dance performers from Sri Lanka will be among other entertaining acts that will welcome 2014 at a countdown carnival presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department at Sha Tin Park, Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza from 8.30pm tonight.
The carnival will also feature a Cantopop concert by pop group HotCha and singers Ivan Lee and Regen Cheung, Latin dancing with some 100 dancers, a piano recital by talented artist Phoebus Chan, as well as flute, ukulele and drum performances, dances, music, rope skipping, shuttlecock-kicking, freestyle bicycle riding, a marching band, and ethnic performances.
Fireworks will be set off at midnight from the tops of Sha Tin Town Hall and Sha Tin Public Library.
