(NBA) Tyreke Evans hits game winning jumper for Pelicans
(12-31 13:09)

Tyreke Evans sank the game-winning basket with 1.2 seconds remaining Monday to give the New Orleans Pelicans a 110-108 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Portland missed a chance to match Oklahoma City for the best record in the US National Basketball Association, instead losing for the second time in a row to slide to 24-7 while New Orleans improved to 14-15.
Damian Lillard lifted the Trail Blazers into a 108-108 deadlock with a 3-pointer with 10.9 seconds remaining.
Instead of calling a timeout, the Pelicans pressed the attack quickly and Evans sank the final basket from the right wing for the deciding points.
LaMarcus Aldridge's desperation shot at the buzzer missed for Portland and the Pelicans had the victory.
Jrue Holiday scored 15 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter for New Orleans and added 13 assists and seven rebounds.
Anthony Davis contributed 27 points and 12 rebounds while Evans added 20 points in the victory.
Lillard led the Trail Blazers with 29 points and Aldridge added 28 points and eight rebounds.
The Pelicans led 89-82 entering the fourth quarter but Portland scored the first seven points of the final period to equalize, setting the stage for the intense finish.—AFP
