Woman held for trying to deposit 19, HK$1,000 fake notes

A woman has been arrested for using counterfeit bank notes after she aroused suspicions at a bank where she tried to deposit 19 HK$1,000 notes.
A teller at the Canton Road branch of Bank of China (Hong Kong) alerted police.
Also, earlier today, a shopkeeper reported to police that he received a suspected fake HK$500 bank note.
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority said banks will speed up the retrieval of old banknotes in circulation.
