Hang Seng, Shanghai close lower

Stocks in Hong Kong ended 0.28 percent lower after a top US Federal Reserve official hinted that the US central bank could announce a wind down of its stimulus as early as next week.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index edged down 66.98 points to 23,744.19 on turnover of HK$52.11 billion.
In Shanghai, shares ended flat. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.71 points to 2,237.49 on turnover of 95.6 billion yuan.—AFP
