Hang Seng closes higher, Shanghai falls

Stocks in Hong Kong ended 0.13 percent higher ahead of the release of US jobs data that will provide a clue on the Federal Reserve's plans for its stimulus program.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index edged up 30.53 points to 23,743.10 on turnover of HK$63.65 billion.
In Shanghai, shares closed down 0.44 percent. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slid 9.95 points to 2,237.11 on turnover of 92.3 billion yuan.—AFP
