Hang Seng leaps 2pc at close

Stocks in Hong Kong climbed 2.04 percent after data showed Chinese manufacturing activity hit a 16-month high in August.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 443.97 points to 22,175.34 on turnover of HK$55.27 billion.
In Shanghai, shares ended flat. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.07 points to 2,098.45 on turnover of 121.1 billion yuan.—AFP
