Nikkei opens higher

Japanese shares opened 0.68 percent higher after the Dow in New York set another record for the fifth straight day, while the dollar remained strong against the yen.
The Nikkei index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 84.55 points to 12,433.60 at the start.
