China can boost investment, consumption

China's top economic planning agency says the country has scope to boost domestic demand and infrastructure investment, as it encourages people to move and live in urban areas.
The head of the National Development and Reform Commission, Zhang Ping, said the government plans to spend 40 trillion yuan to bring 400 million people to cities over the next decade, RTHK reports.
Zhang said initial plans on how that will proceed would be available in the coming three months. He said urbanisation would be the biggest driver of economic growth in the years ahead.
