Campaign to pick out brands of rubbish
(03-06 17:50)

A local green group has launched a campaign to identify by brand name the rubbish fouling local beaches.
Living Lamma says most of what it's found so far -- including more than 1,000 plastic bottles -- indicates that Hong Kong is the source of the rubbish, not the mainland, RTHK reports.
The group's chairwoman, Jo Wilson, says they want to expand the effort -- called "Brands on the Beach" -- to other coastal areas.
She says the aim is get people to dispose of their trash properly, and to encourage the involvement of companies whose products are washing ashore.
