York Chow takes helm at equality body

Former health secretary, York Chow Yat-ngok will become chairman of the Equal Opportunities Commission, the government announced today. He will succeed Lam Woon-kwong, whose term ends this month.
Mr Lam decided not to renew it last July after he was appointed convenor of the Executive Council.
The executive director of Unison, Fermi Wong. which helps minorities, says she's disappointed that another former government official has been appointed to the post. She says she'll ask the selection committee for an explanation., RTHK reports
