European equities climbed Thursday, mirroring gains in Asia and on Wall Street, despite ongoing political deadlock in Italy after inconclusive elections that sparked a fierce sell-off earlier in the week.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of leading companies added 0.53 percent to 6,359.50 points at the open. Frankfurt's DAX 30 rose 0.47 percent to 7,728.26 points and in Paris the CAC 40 won 0.51 percent to 3,710.47, AFP reports.
