Chinese visitors third-biggest spenders in Britain

Chinese tourists, who are avid shoppers, have become the third largest spenders in the UK and fork out £405 each, according to data from 2011. But they do not make up the top 10 in terms of overseas visitors, media reports in London said citing VisitBritain data.
Arab visitors and Nigerians first and second largest spenders in the UK, who splash out £442 per person and £432 respectively, the Telegraph reported.
Of the 18 million visitors Britain receives, two million are French, 1.63m are American, a similar number are from Germany and 1.3m are Irish. Other nations making up the top 10 include the Netherlands and Australia. Yet in 2011, just 149,000 Chinese tourists came to the UK.
