Sea Smooth coxswain ignored radar

Lai Sai-ming, coxswain of the ferry Sea Smooth, said he was careless in that he did not scan the radar before the vessel crashed into Lamma IV, which sank, killing 39 people on the night of October 1, 2012.
He said he had sailed the route many times, so he did not pay attention to the radar.
The visibility was good, said Lai, adding that he did not check the radar frequently.
