Govt looks to reduce construction waste
(02-26 18:27)

The construction industry plans to form an association to devise ways to reduce the amount of waste it produces. This currently amounts to some 3,000 tonnes a day, which takes up a quarter of Hong Kong's landfill sites, RTHK reports.
The level of construction waste is expected to rise over the next few years because of the increasing number of building projects. The move to tackle the problem was was announced after industry representatives met the Secretary for the Environment, Wong Kam-sing.
