Pistorius family updates case on website
(02-21 18:57)

The family of disgraced Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius has devoted his official website to updates about his bail hearing and messages of support, his PR agency said Thursday.
"We will issue at least two statements a day, in order to provide the media with the freshest news, taking into account the time differences,'' said Janine Hills, the chief executive of Vuma corporate reputation management, AFP reports.
The homepage www.oscarpistorius.com no longer has images of the athlete in branded sports clothing by his sponsors.
This week, Nike and sunglasses maker Oakley cut ties with the 26-year-old double amputee, after he was charged with murdering his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day.
Pistorius has been in police custody since his arrest a week ago, and is currently in court for bail application.
The Pretoria Magistrates Court is likely to decide on Thursday whether or not to grant him bail, in a hearing that has created a media frenzy.
The athlete dubbed the "Blade Runner'' has denied that the shooting was premeditated, saying it was a "horrible accident'' after he mistook her for an intruder.
"We have every confidence as a family that when the world has heard the full evidence that this will prove to be a terrible and tragic accident which has changed many lives forever,'' his uncle Arnold Pistorius said in statement posted on the website.
Messages of support from people from all over the world have also been posted on the newly overhauled site.
