French factory output grows slower
(02-21 17:20)

Factory activities in France grew less-than-expected in February, while services sector activity weakened to a four-year low, preliminary data showed today.
In a report, market research group Markit said that its preliminary French manufacturing purchasing managers’ index rose to a seasonally adjusted 43.6 in February from a final reading of 42.9 in January.
A reading above 50.0 on the index indicates industry expansion, below indicates contraction.
The report also showed that service sector activity in France fell to a 48-month low of 42.7 in February from a final reading of 43.6 in January.
