Views sought on rail development

The government has launched a three-month public consultation on seven development concepts involving future railway stations.
They involve alignment proposals to ease passenger flow on the proposed North Island Line, four extensions affecting to the South Island Line, Tuen Mun, Siu Sai Wan and Tung Chung, as well as building two new stations along the West and East Rails, RTHK reports.
The Under Secretary for Transport, Yau Shing-mu, said the government had an open mind on the concepts, adding that it had yet to look at constuction yet to look at constuction costs or completion dates at this stage.
