Call for CE probe voted down
(02-20 17:08)

The legislature has rejected a motion calling on the Council to invoke its special investigatory powers to probe whether Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying misled Legco over the illegal works at his home.
Pan-democrat Cyd Ho Sau-lan, who moved the motion, called Leung Chun-ying " a lying C.E." and said that Legco should launch the inquiry in light of allegations made by Lew Mon-hong, RTHK reports.
Lew was a leading supporter of Mr Leung's election campaign but has since accused him of lying. Only pan-democrats, who are in the minority, supported the motion.
